Three generations of Schmieders… and now a fourth generation baby born July 30, 2007!
We have been blessed with overall good health. However, one person in our extended family has Juvenile Diabetes. This photo does not reveal who must test for blood sugar levels and administer insulin shots up to eight times per day, everyday. It’s Adam, a 16-year-old high school sophomore, active as a goalie in varsity hockey, and working hard in school.
As a close-knit family, we all feel his pain, and we all band together when one is in need of help. The way we are helping this year is through a 105-mile bike ride in Death Valley, California. All six of Mary Cay’s children --- Lynn, Joe, John, Steve, Molly & Matt --- will join together as part of the greater West Michigan Ride Team and cycle for a cure on October 20th.
We ask you to join our Up & Adam Family Team in fighting this disease and help take Juvenile Diabetes out of this picture forever. Please consider a donation per mile or a flat amount that will go towards research aimed at finding a cure. Any support you can provide is deeply appreciated.
Gratefully,
The Schmieder Clan
